A unique scene with intense and brilliant colors, perfect for commercials and films. The Notteri Lagoon is located at the narrowest part of the Capo Carbonara peninsula, the extreme southeastern tip of the island, just minutes from the town center and the modern marina of Villasimius. It is separated from the sea by a thin strip of sand, the beach of the same name, also known as Spiaggia del Giunco, and is immersed in Mediterranean scrub. Looking from the top of the cliff that borders it, an astonishing picture emerges: a double blue field, with various shades, practically "Two Seas" (another name by which Giunco is known) separated by the white of the beach. The lagoon, without emissaries or connections to the sea, is half a meter deep: thus favoring the presence of pink flamingos, observable along the southeastern coast, only here and in the lagoons of Colostrai and Feraxi.

Porto Sa Ruxi Beach

Between Capo Boi and Campus Beach, a bay opens up formed by three small beaches with rocky sides. It will be delightful to dive into its transparent sea with its typical turquoise color and enjoy the sun on this coarse-grained sandy shore. At times, it will feel like being on a tropical beach! These are the postcard colors of Punta Molentis, one of the gems of Villasimius (and all of southern Sardinia), which you’ll find along the scenic road to Castiadas and Costa Rei. The crystal-clear waters wash over the fine, white sand, whose reflections illuminate the coast. The promontory and the beach are part of the Capo Carbonara Marine Protected Area and owe their name to su molenti, the donkey: once a means of transporting material extracted from the surrounding granite quarries. Campus Beach is one of the gems of the southeastern coast, preserved by the Capo Carbonara Marine Protected Area: located at the mouth of a small river, between reeds and Mediterranean scrub that come very close to the shore, it is wide and long, made of soft sand that dips into a crystal-clear and transparent sea with various shades of green and with gently sloping seabeds. Two small promontories enclose and protect it, one of which separates it from the small beach of Cuccureddus. Its design was part of the program to establish a defensive system of interconnected coastal towers, desired by Philip II of Spain to counter the attacks of the Barbary pirates. Equipped with a garrison from 1590-91, it then acquired an increasingly important role and continued its function until 1847. The fortress originally had the shape of an equilateral triangle.
